V8VPN / SETUP
V8VPN Setup Guide
Create an account, get your subscription, and import it into a client. Follow these steps to make your first connection; if you’ve already completed a step, skip ahead using the contents below.
Create an Account and Open the Dashboard
Open the V8VPN user dashboard using the link below and go to the account creation page. No email address is required; create an account with a username and password. Choose a username you’ll recognize, and use a password manager to generate and save a unique password. Before submitting, check for extra spaces and save your account details somewhere you can access later.
Once your account is created, follow the on-screen instructions to open the dashboard. If you’re still on the sign-in page, use the username and password you just saved. You can read tutorials, server information, and plan details on the main website, but you’ll need the user dashboard to view your subscription, orders, and support tickets. You’re signed in when the dashboard shows your personal account overview—not simply because the official website is still open in your browser.
If you already have an account, use the sign-in option; there’s no need to create another account just to add a device. V8VPN allows unlimited simultaneous devices, so you can sign in to the same account on your other devices, get the client, and import your subscription. Keep your account and subscription details secure. Don’t share your password or post dashboard screenshots containing personal information in public forums.
Once you’re in the account overview, make sure you’re using the intended account before choosing a plan. This helps prevent an order from being placed on another account and avoids having to search for your subscription there after payment.
Start FreeChoose a Plan and Confirm Your Order
In the Plans section of the user dashboard, first distinguish monthly subscriptions from data packages, then check the price and included data. Monthly plans are suited to ongoing use: ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, and ¥28/month for 500GB. Choose based on how you actually use the service: browsing and text, file transfers, and video streaming consume different amounts of data. Don’t choose a plan based only on server coverage.
Monthly data resets each month on the date your plan started, not at the beginning of a calendar month. When checking your remaining data, also check the reset time shown in the dashboard. If you upgrade mid-cycle, the price difference is prorated for the remaining days; review the actual change before submitting your order. For a full comparison, read Plans and Data Allowances before returning to the dashboard.
If you prefer to pay based on usage, data packages are ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB, and ¥658/3000GB. They remain valid indefinitely until used up. Data packages and monthly subscriptions are billed differently, so monthly data reset rules don’t apply to data packages. If you already have a plan, check your account status and order details before deciding whether to switch.
After choosing a plan, review its name, price, and billing method on the order confirmation page. Then select Alipay, WeChat Pay, or USDT and follow the payment instructions. After paying, return to the dashboard to check your order and plan status. If the payment hasn’t synced yet, refresh the page before trying again; don’t submit the same order repeatedly. Keep your payment receipt, and contact support through a dashboard ticket if needed. V8VPN offers a 14-day no-questions-asked refund. See the Terms of Service for details.
Choose This PlanGet Your Subscription and Prepare to Import
Once your plan is active, return to the account overview in the user dashboard and check the available options in the subscription section. A subscription URL isn’t a regular website homepage; it provides the client with server configurations available to your account. Opening the official website in a browser doesn’t mean your client has received a subscription. Likewise, pasting the website address into a subscription field won’t give you usable servers.
If the dashboard offers a quick-import option for your client, use it first. Your device may ask whether to open an installed app. Check that it’s the right app before continuing. If the client isn’t installed yet, download and install it in the next section, then return to the account overview to import your subscription. An app that doesn’t open doesn’t necessarily mean the subscription is invalid.
To import manually, use the copy option in the dashboard to copy the full subscription URL, then paste it into the client’s subscription or configuration URL field. Make sure you haven’t missed the beginning, cut off the end, or included any explanatory text. This guide doesn’t provide subscription URLs; sign in to get your personal link. Don’t look for a usable URL in someone else’s screenshot, chat history, or example article.
Your subscription URL contains account access credentials, so protect it like a password. When contacting support, don’t include the full URL in a ticket title or public screenshot. If the client says the URL is invalid, copy it again from the dashboard, check that it’s complete, and confirm your plan status. For detailed subscription update troubleshooting, see the Help Center. Then continue with the standard import steps on this page.
Get Your SubscriptionImport the Client for Your Platform
Open the Downloads section in the dashboard and choose the V8VPN client for your operating system. Sign in to access the Windows, macOS, Android, and Linux clients; the iOS download option requires a purchased plan that hasn’t expired. Downloading a client and using a subscription are separate steps: after downloading the installer, you still need to import your own active subscription to see its servers.
The steps below are organized by platform. Clients include desktop proxy apps that support subscription URLs and mobile apps that route connections through the system VPN configuration. Prefer the V8VPN client and import method provided in the dashboard. Don’t paste an incompatible configuration format into another app. Download, installation, and subscription import all start from the user dashboard; this page doesn’t provide direct download links.
Get the ClientWindows: Add a Subscription Configuration
Choose the Windows client in the dashboard, install it as prompted by your system, and open it. Go to the “Subscription,” “Configuration,” or similar management page and look for an option such as “Import from URL” or “Add subscription.” Paste the URL you copied, give the configuration a recognizable local name, save it, and update it. This name is only a local label; it doesn’t change your plan or server details.
After the update, the configuration section should show an entry, and the server page should list available servers or groups. Set the newly imported configuration as active, then choose a server. If the client has a “System Proxy” switch, turn it on as instructed so apps that follow system proxy settings can use the connection. While setting things up for the first time, quit other proxy clients to avoid multiple apps changing your system proxy at once.
macOS: Import and Enable the Configuration
Get the macOS client from the dashboard, follow the installation prompts, and open its configuration management section. Choose “Import from URL” or the equivalent option for adding a subscription, paste the full URL, save it, and update the subscription. If you use quick import from the dashboard, make sure the app your system is about to open is the client you installed. After importing, return to the client and check that the configuration is selected.
When you enable the connection, the client may ask to set up a network proxy or add a network configuration. Check the app’s source and the prompt before granting permission. Don’t dismiss system dialogs and then repeatedly click Connect. After startup, check the current server and connection status in the app window or menu bar. When you reopen the app, make sure the configuration is still selected before testing access; you don’t need to import the same subscription again each time.
Android: Update the Subscription and Allow the Connection
Download the Android client from the dashboard and install it using your device’s prompts. In the client’s configuration or subscription section, choose the option to add a link, paste the subscription URL copied from the dashboard, and save it. Update the subscription and wait for the server list to appear, then select this configuration. If the list is still empty, check the update message before trying to connect repeatedly.
When you tap Connect, Android may show a system VPN connection request. Confirm it after checking that it was started by the client you’re using, then return to the app and check the connection status. If the connection drops only when the app is in the background, check the system’s app battery management and background activity permissions, then refer to the Help Center. Settings vary by device; you don’t need to change every background option here. First verify the connection while the app is in the foreground.
iOS: Access the Download Option and Add a VPN Configuration
First, make sure your account has an active plan. Then open the Downloads section in the user dashboard and check for the iOS client option. Follow the link provided by the dashboard to get the client from the App Store. Once installed, return to the dashboard and choose the compatible import method. If the download option isn’t shown, check that you’ve purchased a plan that hasn’t expired and that you’re signed in to the account associated with the order. Don’t look for unverified installation files on other platforms.
Use the dashboard’s quick-import option to open the app, or add the URL in the client’s subscription management section. After importing, update the configuration and choose a server. When you start the connection, allow the VPN configuration as prompted by iOS. If the system asks you to authenticate, complete the process in the system dialog. Once the client shows a connection, switch to your browser and test it. The VPN indicator means the connection configuration is enabled; you still need to check that your destination website is accessible.
On Linux, get the appropriate client from the dashboard’s Downloads section and import your subscription according to the client’s instructions. For in-depth information about protocols, split tunneling, and different traffic routing modes, see the Troubleshooting Handbook. For your first setup, keep the default configuration and avoid changing multiple options at once.
Connect to a Server and Verify It Works
After updating your subscription, select the active configuration in the client and choose an available server from the server or proxy group page. For your first connection, start with rule mode, which handles requests according to the configured rules. Global and direct modes serve different purposes; don’t assume “Global” is always faster, and don’t select “Direct” when you need to use a proxy. See the Global Server Network page for information about server types and coverage. The entries available in your client are the source of truth.
After connecting, check the client for configuration errors, permission issues, or connection failures. Then open a familiar website to confirm your basic internet connection is working. Next, try the service you actually need, such as an AI tool or streaming site. Confirm that the page loads, sign-in can proceed, and the required features work; a lit connection switch alone doesn’t prove the connection is working.
To check your exit details, open the V8VPN Network Test page and compare the results with the server selected in your client. In rule mode, different requests may take different routes, so the test result doesn’t prove that every app uses the same route. If the destination service still doesn’t work, note its specific message and distinguish between a page that won’t load, a restricted account sign-in, and a regional content notice before deciding what to check next.
If you’re connected but the destination page won’t open, first make sure the selected server isn’t set to Direct, the subscription updated without errors, and no other proxy client is running. Keep the destination page the same and try a different server. Avoid changing the mode, configuration, and app all at once, or you won’t know which change helped. A working server connection also doesn’t guarantee that your account is eligible to use an AI tool; check the relevant service’s terms for its restrictions.
Once your connection is verified, keep the working configuration. After that, you’ll usually only need to update your subscription or switch servers when needed. You don’t need to create another account to add a device, and V8VPN allows unlimited simultaneous devices. If you’re on a monthly plan, keep an eye on your remaining data and reset time. If you can’t connect at all, frequently lose the connection in the background, or can’t update your subscription for an extended period, troubleshoot by symptom in the Troubleshooting Handbook instead of removing every configuration first.
